President Letter

Samia Doany

Delegates of GA, it is a great pleasure to welcome you to Ahliyyah and Mutran MUN, my name is Samia Doany, and I am an 12th grade student in Ahliyyah and Mutran school. The General Assembly is a very special committee that tackles diverse issues from all around the world. Looking around nowadays, conflict can be spotted anywhere, and it is our jobs as future leaders to exempt our world from such issues.

The United Nations General Assembly is not just any committee it is a key committee where almost all member states have the equal opportunity to discuss and coordinate global issues and make recommendations on international policies. It provides a platform for debate, policy formulation, and cooperation. Our topics this year address ethnic cleansing and aid restriction. Ethnic cleansing is like tearing pages out of a book to fit a preferred narrative, erasing entire chapters of a community’s history. And Addressing Israel's Unlawful Restrictions on Gaza Aid is a topic that aims to shield our Palestinian brothers and sisters and decrease the misery and constraints they live through on a daily basis.

Delegates, I have full confidence in each and every one of you and I hope in these 3 days you will all reach your fullest potential. I am very excited to witness the fiery and heated debates, and I cannot wait for all of us to learn and grow together.

See you on the 31st of October!

Samia Doany,

President of GA.
